Today, I want to talk to you about having fun.

F-U-N.

Stay with me…

The truth is, I actually deleted this email at first, and convinced myself that the topic wasn’t relevant or exciting enough in itself.

After all, who wants to hear about having fun? You want to make more money, get more clients and be successful, right?

But on Saturday morning my perspective changed, and I realized you had to hear this. I’ll explain why in a second.

So let me ask you…

How much fun are you having in your everyday life?

How often do you do things that excite you?

How much time do you spend off the computer – really living life?

If you’re anything like me over the past two years, the answer is probably not a lot.

But a few weeks ago, I realized I wanted more fun all the time – not just when I travel or on special occasions. I decided I wanted my weekly life to be fun. (Believe me, this was quite a revelation for me.)

So this weekend, James and I purposefully had fun – away from the computer. We spent all of Saturday and Sunday out of the house – we went to our favorite restaurants, shopped, met up with friends, sat in gorgeous Hyde Park, watched a movie, took a walk along the river, did some journaling  – we did it all!

And it was AAAMMMAAAZZZIIINNNGGG!

Now, back to why I decided to share this with you…

On Saturday, I pulled out the book Miracles Now by Gabrielle Bernstein (something I haven’t read since last year but felt called to dive in again) and when I opened it up, I landed on the page that says…

“#46: Measure your success with how much fun you’re having”.

Ha! I don’t believe that happened by chance. I believe I was meant to see that and then send you this message, Lovely.

Now the one thing I want to get straight here, Lovely, is that I’m always going to be honest with you. I hope you know that by now!

And honestly, the truth is that I didn’t really care about having “fun” over the past two years – at least not in the traditional sense.

Sure, when James and I travelled we had fun and it was definitely exciting, but when it came to everyday life outside of my business, I really didn’t care about going to parties, sitting in Hyde Park, spa days or meeting up with friends.

Building my business was my fun, and I knew I needed to get that off the ground to be able to live the life I wanted.

I’m so grateful I built the foundation and momentum that has gotten me to this place.

I believe that everything I’ve done over the past two years has contributed to me being able to live a life better than my dreams and have the opportunity to have more fun in my life.

So maybe that’s where you are today – you’re in the building momentum stage of business and you know that that’s your main focus right now.

Or maybe you’re ready for more fun.

Either way, that’s great.

The key is to continually evaluate what it is you truly want and to know what you’re working towards – and in my opinion, fun should always be part of that equation.

(Looking back, I do think I could have done what I did and had a little more fun away from the computer so just know you can always weave it in!)

This week in the first module of the I Heart Coaching program, we dove into what each client really wants from her life and business. I asked them to really go there – no more holding back, censoring, or wondering what people will think.

It’s been amazing to see their revelations – women who couldn’t even come up with an answer to what they wanted, women who had been going through the motions of life, and women who have guilt over going for the life they want.

Maybe that exercise is something you want to do today, Lovely. Get clear on what’s fun for you, what excites you and how you can weave all of that into your life and business now and in the future.

How can you find the fun in your one life today?

Life and business is meant to be fun.

We take it so seriously (me included for sure!) but we can have fun and be successful.

And maybe, just maybe, they actually go hand in hand…

Quite a revelation, right?!

Here’s to you painting the town red and getting all the success you want, Lovely!

I started I Heart My Life from my kitchen table in a tiny London apartment in 2013.

After going through a 5-year quarter-life crisis, I discovered the world of personal development and the power of a gratitude journal and finally got clear on my true purpose in life: to help women fall in love with themselves and their lives. I Heart My Life has gone through many transformations over the years, but its mission has always remained the same: we exist to teach you how to create a life that you love.
