Luciana Naldi is a force to be reckoned with, a mama on a mission and the queen of turning obstacles into opportunities. She’s the mom of two sets of twins, a fitness buff, and due to an illness that caused her to lose her hair, a brave woman who decided to shave her head. Through that decision, she dropped emotional weight she’d been carrying for years (without realizing it), inspired people all around the world, got on Dove’s radar, took her speaking game to a whole other level and created her own “pretty woman” moment. This episode is for anyone who wants to be inspired to live life to the fullest and take on the world, recognize that true beauty and happiness can only come from within, and be reminded that all obstacles are opportunities.

During this episode, we’re going to cover…

  • How to use obstacles to create life-changing opportunities in your life and business
  • How to finally give yourself permission to choose what you want for your life versus what’s been expected all along
  • How Luciana’s “pretty woman” moment was different from what she envisioned but exactly what she needed (and how to create your own)
  • What self-care and self-worth really are (you’ll be surprised by this answer) and how to put yourself first even with the kids, clients and craziness of life
  • How gaining 70 pounds while pregnant gave her a better understanding of beauty and compassion for women

One of my favorite quotes from this episode is this:

“Sometimes when I say ‘best self’, people tend to think my most perfect version of myself, and that’s not it. There is no perfect version of you. There is the version of you that is the kindest, is the most compassionate, is the most understanding of all you’re trying to balance and do. I think your best self continues to take actions as frequently as possible towards the things that matter most to you. If you’re doing that in a way that also allows you to feel healthy and be healthy and do all the things that you want to do, then that’s self-care.” – Luciana Naldi

Luciana Naldi is a former collegiate athlete, high school educator and championship winning basketball coach. She spent the first 10 years of her career teaching nutrition, movement, Olympic weightlifting and all things health, wellness and empowerment.  After having her second set of twins, she quit her career to care for her children full time at home. The intensity of the experience led her to re-evaluate her beliefs, life goals, self-care practices and make radical changes to it all so she could create her vision of healthy and happy.  Two years later, she started teaching and coaching women on implementing self-care skills related to nutrition, mindset and motherhood among other things. At the same time she began writing and speaking and has been published in the Huffington Post and spoken to various groups on establishing and cultivating a positive mindset, nutrition skills for both adults and kids, and how to use obstacles as opportunities for learning and growth. She was most recently featured in Dove’s Real Beauty Campaign for sharing her journey to becoming a bald woman as a result of having alopecia.
