we're I HEART MY LIFE

I have a confession for you today: I have a habit of crying on my birthday.

I know – it’s very “It’s my party and I’ll cry if I want to” but stick with me…

I just celebrated my birthday this past weekend, and although the day was incredible (full of shopping, quality time with my husband and amazing food!), I found myself emotional that morning.

So what’s the crying all about?

Well, before I started my company, the crying was about me putting pressure on myself to have it all together. It was about my career shame and feeling completely lost.

I always knew I wanted to start my own business and do something big with my life, but for so many years, I was just going through the motions and waiting for life to get good. There were times where I doubted what I wanted and my ability to make my dreams a reality. There were also quite a few times when I wondered if my desires were really valid or if I was off in “La La Land”. (I also cried about being single, but that’s a whole other story!)

Of course, as you know, I did get the clarity I was searching for and developed I Heart My Life for the woman who is looking to make her life and career dreams come true (and may currently be shedding a few tears while opening her own birthday presents).

So why am I still crying on my birthday despite my company wishes coming true?

The answer: Not enough time.

Because I have so many things I want to do in this lifetime (that are now actually in reach) sometimes my negative thoughts about time running out or wishing I would have started my company earlier in life creep in, run the show and tell me I’m running out of time.

Do you ever feel like that? Do you ever wish you had had the answers sooner or feel like you should be further along or in a different place?

The thing with the coulda, woulda, shoulda’s is that they are an absolute waste of time, but sometimes they are difficult to avoid.

However, when you learn how to truly live in the moment (something I work on with my clients), you soon realize that you actually couldn’t have been anywhere else but where you were and where you are today.

Stay with me…

I’m guessing that you and I both made the best decisions that we could in the past and that every experience – good or bad – has led us to this point and to the desires and goals we have now.

So what does that mean? We’re in the exact right place today.

Now of course that doesn’t mean you’ll always be here (who knows, you may even take one giant leap forward tomorrow!) but for today, you can (hopefully) find peace in knowing that you’re in the right place.

I know, I know, for those of you who aren’t happy, are stuck in horrible relationships or are feeling that career shame I used to feel, you may be ready to close this browser while applying incredible force on the keyboard and swearing at me, but just wait one more second…

As I get older, I realize that life is so precious, and it’s miraculous that we are even here living on this planet! For that reason, I do believe that each one of us has a purpose and unique gifts to share with the world. But often times, we learn about these gifts, goals and desires from the challenges put before us. If you think about it, you rarely learn or grow from your happiest moments, right?

For example, thank goodness I went though my quarter-life crisis because now I’m able to share that experience – one you may relate to – with you. And frankly, if I hadn’t gone through the hard stuff or taken years trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life, I wouldn’t have seen the value in a company like mine!

In my heart, I believe I took action at the right time, and that everything is unfolding as it should (although I do have days where I suffer from a horrible lack of patience – still working on that one!).

So if you’re wishing for your life to be different (even slightly), by all means, take action towards the life you truly want. Now’s the time, and I do believe your desires exist in “Real Time” for a reason, but do all you can not to regret the past or the timing of your life.

P.S. If you act on your dreams and desires now, who knows where you’ll be the next time you blow out your birthday candles. The possibilities are endless, and I know you’re meant for big things! With that, I have a mere four spots in my coaching program this month, and I’d love for one of them to be yours! FOUNDER & CEO

I started I Heart My Life from my kitchen table in a tiny London apartment in 2013.

After going through a 5-year quarter-life crisis, I discovered the world of personal development and the power of a gratitude journal and finally got clear on my true purpose in life: to help women fall in love with themselves and their lives. I Heart My Life has gone through many transformations over the years, but its mission has always remained the same: we exist to teach you how to create a life that you love.
